How long have you been with Team Results?

I joined the Team in 2006 as a fully qualified Business Coach operating my own business.  The concepts that apply to all other business owners apply to me in my business, so I come from a practical background, not a theoretical one.

Why do you do what you do?

I have a great passion in life for helping others and making a difference to their lives. The greatest pleasure I get is from seeing the change in my clients. The feedback I get from people who are closest to the clients (friends / family) is always the most rewarding.

What has been your biggest challenge to date?

My challenge was one that I see in many Business Owners when I meet them for the first time, that is that when coming out of a large corporate business I thought I had the answer to everything. After all, how hard could it be to run my own business? Then the penny dropped and I realised I was on my own and all decisions rested on my shoulders; if I didn’t do it, it didn’t get done. At this stage I realised I needed help but felt too proud to accept it. Perhaps I had the fear of being found out that I didn’t know what I was doing.  Overcoming this ego took time but the most important challenge that I overcame.

What areas do you specialise in?

Through my previous working career I have managed large teams implemented many systems.  Within many organisations there is inherently a lot of waste and the normal methods employed by larger businesses is to bring in ‘Lean’ experts.  This subject is usually full of jargon, complicated sounding techniques and applied mainly to the manufacturing parts of a business. My main focus now is to bring this knowledge in a simple practical way across all areas of the business. This requires the ability to spot the areas that can benefit from the change and getting the teams ‘buy in’ to accept it.

What is your personality type?

I always find this type of question difficult to answer…If you read my Linkedin client recommendations the ‘Top Qualities’ that they list are, high integrity, expert, personable, great results and creative.  Basically my view is that I love helping people achieve; I have great patience and never judge anyone; I look to help them move forward at a pace they are comfortable with.

Biggest frustration in your industry?

I believe that everyone can improve and learn to run a successful business.  I find it really frustrating when someone writes them self off as a lost cause or are written off by others as a lost cause.
